April 2008: The Sports Medicine Department at James Madison University presented Dr. Nieder with the "2007-2008 Service Award." This is "awarded to an individual or organization who has demonstrated a commitment to growth, development and success of the JMU Department of Sports Medicine in its ongoing efforts to provide exemplary care to all JMU student-athletes." Dr. Nieder gladly accepted this gracious award and looks forward to continuing to co-manage the health concerns of these student-athletes with the JMU Sports Medicine Staff.
May 2007: Dr. Nieder was named “Team Physician” for the Rockingham County Baseball League (RCBL) Clover Hill Bucks. Dr. Nieder will be providing sports medicine services to the players, as well as pre-game warm-up strategies for limiting game-related injuries. He is looking forward to providing on-site care for the club and bonding long-term relationships with the players and personnel.
April 2007: Nieder Chiropractic and Rehabilitation, Inc. was accepted as an “Affiliate Clinical Rotation Site” for James Madison University Sports Medicine students. Dr. Nieder has enjoyed the internship presented and looks forward to future learning encounters and this rare opportunity to provide further knowledge of musculoskeletal care from a private practice setting. March 2007: Dr. Nieder was invited to a an “Elite Workshop” among other specialists throughout the country to a special workshop featuring Dr. Pavel Kolar, PT ,PhD of the Czech Republic. “This program was a rare private workshop opportunity designed to give some of the top practitioners in the country a personal and special encounter with Dr. Kolar.”
May 2006: Dr. Nieder received credentials from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a “Performance Enhancement Specialist.” Thus allowing Dr. Nieder to expand his knowledge of rehabilitative/human performance to his patients/clients in a more organized and “evidence-based” program. Currently, “95% of all NBA trainers are NASM certified.”---NASM statistic.
April 2006: Dr. Nieder attended the annual “Sports and Spine” Rehabilitation Symposium presented by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC). The 3-day symposium featured a multidisciplinary panel of experts in their respected fields that expanded on rehabilitative, sports medicine, and pain management.
January 2006: Dr. Nieder became “Full Body” certified through Active Release Techniques®, therefore, allowing him to further treat myofascial/soft-tissue concerns of both the lower/upper extremities, as well as spinal conditions.
November 2006: As a guest lecturer, Dr. Nieder provided information on “Key Functional Assessments” as it relates to Sports Medicine and rehabilitation to James Madison Athletic Training students.
Fall 2004-Present: Dr. Nieder attended several Chiropractic Rehabilitation courses in Chicago/Philadelphia/Richmond that is being credited towards a Diplomate as a Chiropractic-Rehab Specialist through the Amercian Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board. (ACRB).
